The Angels Landing hike may be one of the most popular in the United States. Before arriving at Zion, you’ll need to grab a permit for this hike. You can hike the moderate to difficult trail in either direction, with a popular choice being the 16 miles down to Chamberlain Ranch to camp overnight. The trek is a sensory experience, with each splash of water echoing along the trail. The vibrant colors of the rock cover all shades of browns, reds, oranges, and yellows, with some black scars added for good measure. As you wander beside and sometimes through the river, the walls of the canyon rise to either side, curling and rising above your head.
